How To Start A Successful “How To…” Website

How To websites are fantastic websites that, well obviously, tell people how to accomplish a certain task, for example, you are currently reading an article on a website that tells people how to start a successful website business and earn an income online! These websites can be a great source of income because, let’s face it, nobody knows how to do everything, and where are they going to turn to find out how to do something? Quite possibly, your website! So let’s get started:

Step 1: Register Your Domain, Get Website Hosting, and a Script

Before choosing just any name, make sure you know what niche you want to go with, and by that I mean what’s your websites central theme going to be? For example, this how to website is on how to make money on the internet! So, after you figure out your niche, find a domain from your favorite domain registrar (Your Domain Registrar Company Here), choose a domain with a keyword from your niche! Next, find good website hosting, I strongly recommend using HostMonster.com! They have great support, fast servers, and cPanel! Finally, you will want to get a script! I recommend using a blog script like WordPress, this is because it’s free, it’s very versatile, and very easy to SEO! To SEO it properly, just install all in one SEO pack!

Step 2: Get Some Content!

A lot of people don’t like to write, if this is the case, I recommend hiring content writers. Now here is the thing, you can pay people as much as you want, but I recommend staying around $10 per 500 word article. This price is pretty fair, but it won’t get you the highest possible quality articles, this is why I recommend editing the articles to get out all the mistakes. But hey, it’s a lot easier than writing some yourself! However, there is a downside, I recommend posting one article a day for at least three months, why? This will get Google and the other search engines very interested in your website, constantly updating websites is what Google loves!

Step 3: Promote Your Website!

This is a simple three steps: First, submit all of your articles to a few article directories, here is a list of 200+ article directories. I recommend submitting to all of the page rank 6 directories through page rank 4. That’s not too many directories and it will get a great start on some good traffic! Next, submit to regular directories like DMOZ.org or BOTW.org. Finally, I recommend posting a few of your articles on webmaster forums, this is a great way to get some educated traffic to your website!

Step 4: Make Money with Your Website!

This step, I recommend doing after you get you’re promoting done and your Alexa.com rank is under two million. Why? So you can get accepted into Text-Link-Ads.com! This website is very, very good and very hard to get into. You can also try using other ad networks like Google Adsense and even Tribal Fusion!
